Heavy snow blocks most roads in the mid and high hills of Himachal

Shimla : In view of the ongoing heavy snowfall across Himachal Pradesh the state police has issued a travel advisory with a list of many roads blocked in Shimla, Chamba, Kullu, Lahaul & Spiti,Kinnaur, Sirmaur, Mandi and Kangra districts.

The busy Kalka -Shimla national highway is blocked at Shoghi.Shimla-Theog, Thoeg-Chopal, Rohru, Rampur, Nankhari are also closed. Many tourists and locals are reported to be stranded at many places.

In Chamba roads to Khajjiar, Dalhousie among others are blocked.
In tribal Kinnaur district Rekong Peo to Kalpa and Rekong Peo to Sangla are only open for 4 by 4 vehicles at 5:30 PM. In Sirmaur district Sangrah to Nauradhar and Haripurdhar are open one way only.

While in Kullu district Banjar to Aani is closed on the Jalori Pass. Solang Nallah to Atal Tunnel is open for 4 by 4 vehicles. In Lahaul Spiti most of the roads are blocked.

The state police has requested all concerned to avoid unnecessary traveling on these roads as it is snowing continuously. In any emergency, please contact 112 or nearest Police Station
