Himachal’s GIC PSU sales target Rs 34.12 crore

Shimla : The General Industries Corporation (GIC) a PSU of the Himachal Pradesh government is all set to achieve a sales target of Rs 34.12 crore in the current fiscal .

“In the current fiscal upto Feb 2013 GIC has earned a profit of Rs over 361 lakh ,” the state’s industries minister Mukesh Agnihotri said Saturday after the board of directors meeting here .

He said GIC was planning to further diversify its activities .The board also gave its nod to sell 500 kg silk yarn for various welfare initiatives for the staff of the company .

Chairing a meeting of another state PSU the State Industrial Development Corporation (SIDC) the industries minister said the company is expected to earn a profit of Rs 436 lakh during the current fiscal . The market wing is expected to earn Rs 20.18 lakh profit .

Holding a board meeting of the Handloom Corporation Limited the minister said the company should ensure quality of their products so that they can compete in the open market .

The board meeting of the state Khadi and Village Industries Board also took place .
