Himachal to implement 10 % quota for higher castes
Shimla: After Gujarat now Himachal Pradesh has decided to provide 10 per cent reservation for economically weak general category people in jobs and education institutions.
The state chief minister Jai Ram Thakur said this historic policy passed by parliament some days back will be implemented in letter and spirit.
The Chief Minister said that this decision would prove a boon to the economically weak families of general category.
Jai Ram said that the mantra of ‘Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas’ of the Centre and the State governments has been further strengthened.
Jai Ram Thakur said that under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government of India is ensuring that every poor and eligible person of every caste and community get the opportunity to live life with dignity.
