Himachal mulls cigarette selling licence
Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh government is considering bringing in a law so that all cigarette sellers will have to have a licence to sell cigarettes.
The government is also planning to ban the sale of loose cigarettes to discourage the youth from smoking.
State health minister Kaul Singh said this new law could be passed in the upcoming winter session.
He said there was a need to stop the sale of loose cigarettes as there were no warnings on them.
The state government had earlier banned the sale of cigarettes close to educational institutions but the law is hardly implemented by the authorities.
