Himachal monsoon 14 dead , loss 50 crore , 278 airlifted

Shimla : The number of dead has risen to 14 in Himachal Pradesh’s monsoon battered Kinnaur district , and the loss is estimated at Rs 50 crore .

 In the last two days 278 people have been airlifted  while 500 people continue to be stranded .

 “The death toll has risen to 14 ,” state chief secretary S Roy said here late Wednesday.

 “Around 500 people are still stranded in Kinnaur, so far 278 people have been airlifted since Tuesday ,” he said .

 “More than 150 houses have been fully damaged. The loss to horticulture and hortculture is estimated at Rs 50 crore. Rs 10 crore has been immediately released to carry our relief operations ,” Roy said .
