Himachal Governor’s house address ends in a jiffy

Shimla : Himachal Pradesh governor Kalyan Singh surprised legislators on the opening day of the budget session by finishing his 39 page long address in a couple of minutes here Wednesday.

The governor set a new precedent as he read only the opening and closing lines of his speech. He said as copies of the speech have been provided to the members the rest of his speech may be considered as read.

The budget session begins with the address of the governor which usually exceeds well over an hour and lists out the achievements of the government.

This time the budget session has 22 sittings. Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh will present the budget on March 18.

83 year old Kalyan Singh is the governor of Rajasthan.He also holds the additional charge of governor Himachal Pradesh since late January this year.
