Himachal gets first mobile dental clinic van

Shimla : Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur flagged-off a Mobile Dental Van from Oak Over on ‘Dentist Day’ today.
The Dental Van is worth Rs 34.53 lakh it would go a long way in organizing Dental Treatment Camps in schools and far-flung areas of the hill state where facilities of dental treatment is not available.

Jai Ram said this Dental Van would also help in providing treatment to specially-abled people who cannot visit hospital for treatment. 

Equipped with fully automatic chair with all accessories such as scaler, light cure, compressor suction X-ray facility, generator, water storage tank, public address system, air conditioning system. Treatments such as extraction, filling, scaling, x-ray, diagnosis and treatment planning, pain management, awareness and patient motivation were possible in the Mobile dental van.

Secretary Health Amitabh Awasthi, Director Medical Education Dr. Rajneesh Pathania, Principal Dental College Shimla and other officers were present on the occasion.
