Himachal bans gutka , pan masala , khaini, masheri

Shimla : Storage , sale and distribution of gutka , pan masala , khaini and masheri has been imposed Friday in Himachal Pradesh .

The sale , storage and manufacturing of these items will now be illegal .

A spokesman of the state government said such food business operators will neither be registered nor issued a licence .

While a gutka ban already exists in four states—Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh .Maharashtra will be the first to ban paan masala.

But Himachal has gone a step ahead by banning gutka , pan masala , khaini and masheri as well .
