Himachal 100 per cent Aadhaar

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh’s IT department claims it has achieved 100 per cent Aadhaar saturation. Aadhar numbers have been generated for 72,52,880 residents of the state.

With this, Himachal has become the sixth State/UT in the country to achieve this feat after Delhi, Telangana, Haryana, Punjab and Chandigarh.

To maintain 100 per cent Aadhaar saturation in future, the government says it has deployed 780 tablets through Anganwari workers to cover 0-5 age group and 250 Tablets will be deployed through health bodies to cover new born babies.

The official said that as biometric updation is mandatory at attaining the age of 5 years and 15 years, 240 Permanent Enrolment Centres (PECs) operational for updation and enrolment activity down to the block level.

He said that 22 Aadhaar mobile vans are also operational to cover any left out person.
