Jaundice cases in Shimla
There is a sudden rise in the number of jaundice patients in Shimla during the past few days.
Although government hospitals are underplaying the figure saying the number is still low and there was no need for alarm.
But majority of the patients are visiting traditional medicine men who claim to cure people by reciting mantras.
Doctors say every year there is a rise in jaundice patients due to virus getting active after drinking dirty water.
Earlier this year Shimla was hit by the worst jaundice attack which infected thousands in the hill station. Over a dozen people died. While others put the figure slightly higher.
