5.64 lakh domestic cooking gas consumers in Himachal
Shimla : According to the latest count Himachal Pradesh has 564,062 domestic cooking gas connections with its price varying between Rs 431 to Rs 441 across the state .
State civil supplies minister G S Bali told the house Friday that the price of non-subsidised domestic cylinder was Rs 1306 to Rs 1337 .
Kullu legislator Maheshwar Singh asked the minister if the civil supplies department was planning to have more gas agencies as many remote areas were far away from distribution centres and had to transport their cylinders on their own by bus, taxi and on human back.
“In some places consumers were spending Rs 1200 to Rs 1500 for a cylinder after incurring all these expenses ,” Maheshwar said .
The minister told that house the department would look into this and open more sub-depots to ensure a better supply of gas cylinders to people .
In reply to a question on Pong dam oustees the state revenue minister Kaul Singh told the house so far 294 people have not been given possession of land plots given to them by the government .
“We will again take up the matter with the Rajasthan government , we also have the option of approaching the Supreme Court for contempt of court in this matter,” Kaul Singh said .
The Pong Dam was built in 1972 in the Kangra valley. The wetland displaced 90,000 people many of whom were promised rehabilitation in Rajasthan .
