Shimla MC auctions lift parking for Rs 21.5 lakh

Shimla : The popular parking lot for tourists at the edge of the HPTDC lift has been auctioned by the municipal corporation for Rs 21,52,100 for one year .

Shimla mayor Sanjay Chauhan told Sun Post that the amount is around Rs 6.5 lakh less than last year . The auction amount has been lowered to eliminate overcharging by the private party .

The parking fee charges have been fixed and will be regulated by the civic body to make it far more transparent in view of complaints of overcharging of tourists.

This parking has a capacity of around 60 cars and is one of the oldest parking lots in the hill station .

The civic body has also called tenders for the auctioning the Titla hotel (Tytler’s hotel) in Jakhu besides two shops in the middle bazaar .

The MC has also invited tenders for display of posters at 28 spots across the town .
