1.95 crore apple boxes produced

Shimla: With the harvest almost over in the high hills of Himachal Pradesh 1.95 crore apple boxes have been exported outside the hill state.

A spokesperson of the horticulture department said on Friday that 1.95 crore apple boxes had been exported to markets in 43,327 trucks.

Also 15,255 metric tonnes of apple was procured under Market Intervention Scheme (MIS) by HPMC and HIMFED.

This is one of the lowest production in the state.But despite this farmers have had good returns.
