Shimla records highest temp in Jan ahead of snowfall alert
Shimla: The unusual warm spell continued for the second day in Himachal Pradesh with Shimla recording the highest temperature in January at 23.1 C. Previous high was recorded only a day ago at 22 C which broke the highest temperture recorded way back in January 2006.
The neighbouring town of Solan also recorded the highest temperature in January at 29 C. The previous high was 27.5 C in 2007.
Amid a heat spell the IMD has issued a wet wether warning of widespred precipittion over Himachl Pradesh from 5 th January to 6 th January. An orange alert has been issued by the weatherman on 5 th and 6th January. Including a cold spell yellow alert on 6 th and 7th January.
Isolated precipitation likely on 4 th and 7th January. Next wet spell is expected on 10 th January.
