Shimla HRTC taxis for Sr citizens,disabled & kids

HRTC taxis plying on Shimla’s sealed and restricted roads are only for the elderly above the age of 60, disabled and children below the age of ten years.

A spokesman of the state government citing a high court order said no other person can avail the service of these taxis.

There have been a spate of complaints about the elderly being elbowed out by the young to get into these much sought after HRTC taxis in this Himachal Pradesh capital.

Media reports say commercial minded drivers of these taxis have failed to provide seats to senior citizens, children and the disabled.

There are also complaints of drivers being rude and overloading in these vehicles.

There are dozens of such taxis plying all over Shimla town.
