Ruskin Bond at 81 joins Twitter

One of India’s best known and loved writers Ruskin Bond, 81 has joined Twitter on Friday.

A proof of his popularity is that soon after joining Twitter a steady stream of followers are following him and messaging him mostly welcoming him on this platform.

Bond had a lonely childhood. He passed out of Bishop Cotton School,Shimla in 1950 but hardly ever talks about it.

He published his first short story at 16. He has lived most of his life in Mussoorie and is easily the most famous resident of this hill station.

He has a large following of readers particularly children. Currently Bond is at the Jaipur Literary Festival.
