Now MC Shimla hands over bloated water bills

Shimla : The broke Shimla municipal corporation seems to have found an easy way to make money , by issuing high amount water bills , mostly without meter reading .

 Water bills sent to customers in April/May for the last six months consumption are often two to six times higher than previous bills .

 Since most water meters are out of order these bills are based on average consumption .

 But what is surprising that instead of matching the previous bill average amount this time the amount is far higher .

 Some have even accused the civic body of being unfair and dishonest for overcharging customers .

 While others have alleged the civic body of fleecing residents .
