New Himachal Tourism Lift to Mall Road Shimla

Shimla : A new lift connecting the Circular Road to Shimla’s Mall Road has been completed and opened to the public.

This lift has been built at a cost of Rs. 6.20 crore.The journey will only take 90 seconds.
It was thrown open to the public by the state chief minister Jai Ram Thakur on Friday.

It has a carrying capacity of 26 people and is equipped with all modern facilities including anemergency alarm system, music, telephone connectivity and a clock.

The adjoining old lift will also continue to operate. Both the lifts are owned and run by the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Corporation(HPTDC).

This Lift is very popular with both tourists and locals. The Old Lift was opened in the 1970s.
