Mobile health vans started in Himachal

Shimla : Medical Mobile Unit Jeevan Dhara, Mobile Health and Wellness Centre were flagged off from Shimla’s Ridge for providing a complete range of health care services for people in remote areas of Himachal Pradesh.

Each mobile van will function as a Mobile Primary
Health Centre. To begin with 10 such mobile vans hve been pressed into service.

Out of these ten vans, two each will operate in Kangra, Mandi and Shimla districts and one each for Chamba, Kullu, Sirmaur and Solan districts.

The Health and Wellness Van will have basic facilities such as diagnostic, testing facilities for various ailments. Jeevan Dhara would also have requisite drugs and supplies as prescribed for a Primary Health Centre. 

Each Jeevan Dhara Van will have one Medical Officer, one Pharmacist, Laboratory Technician and a Class-IV employee.

These vans will coordinate with the Community Health Officer,ANM in Sub Centre- Health Wellness Centre.Free medical consultancy and screening will be provided to the patients in this Jeevan Dhara Mobile Health and Wellness Centre.

TB Detection Vans were also flagged off on the occasion. Six such TB Detection Vans have been pressed into service to ensure early detection of TB patients, a health official said.
