Himachal makes journalist HPPSC chairman

Shimla : K S Tomar a senior journalist on Thursday took over as the chairman of the Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) here 

 Governor Urmila Singh administered the oath of office here to him in Raj Bhawan .

 Tomar until last week served as resident editor Hindustan Times at Jaipur .

 Born in 1955 in remote Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh , Tomar began his career in journalism in 1979 .

 During the peak of terrorism in Punjab he reported from Amritsar for many years including covering Operation Blue Star .
