Heavy rain in Himachal Sujanpur Tira records 307 mm

Shimla: The monsoon has been vigorous in many places of Himachal Pradesh with some weather stations recording over 300 mm rain in the last 24 hours.

While the state capital Shimla recorded the heaviest spell of the season on Monday at 173 mm. Most of the rain took place in about six hours.

Sujanpur Tira in Hamirpur district recorded a whopping 307 mm, Arki was close behind at 300 mm. Nadaun 285 , Gohar 260,Paonta Sahib 239, Baijnath 235,Palampur 212,Bhooranj 209, Dehra 194, Naina Devi 190 among many other places.

There have been reports of landslides at many places across the hill state blocking scores of link roads.

The weather office has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places in the next 24 hours.
