Congress walkout in Himachal assembly over corruption

Shimla : The Congress staged a walkout on the opening day of the Himachal monsoon session Monday demanding a CBI probe against the P.K.Dhumal led BJP government .

Opposition Congress party leader Vidya Stokes demanded a CBI investigation against the government saying in this connection the Congress party had already handed over a chargesheet to President Pranab Mukherjee on Aug 22 .

She said the chargesheet also includes corruption charges against the chief minister .

When Speaker Tulsi Ram pointed out that no notice had been given by the Opposition . After this the Congress members started raising slogans against the treasury benches . The BJP raised counter slogans .

Soon after the Congress walked out of the house .

The four day monsoon session is the last assembly session of the ruling BJP government . Assembly polls are due in a couple of months .
