Briton held with cannabis in Himachal
Shimla : Police have arrested a British national with almost 2 kg of cannabis in the scenic Kullu valley , a police official said Saturday .
The incident took place in the Manikaran area of the valley when ASI Dheeraj Singh stopped and checked Mark Hajdasz and found almost 2 kg cannabis on him .
The man was taken into custody immediately and is being questioned . The British high commission has been informed in New Delhi , a police official told Sun Post .
The Kullu valley is notorious for cannabis smuggling which grows in the wild and finds its way to many corners of the world .
The region is visited by hippies many of whom are attracted by the contraband since the 1960s .
Many locals are involved in this racket despite police stepping up its fight against the banned substance in recent years .
