3 tourists die in Himachal car plunge

Shimla : Three people were killed including a five year old boy when an overloaded car fell into a deep gorge near the popular tourist resort town of Manali Saturday , police said.

The incident took place 26 km uphill from Manali . Six others are injured and they have been shifted to a hospital in Manali .

The dead belonged to Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh .

Every day thousands of tourist visit the popular Rohtang pass 3980 m above sea level .

The serpentine road leading to the Himalayan pass is 58 km from Manali . The pass is covered in heavy snow during most of the year .
