Himachal docs call off stir

With the Himachal high court intervening, the state government and IGMC agitating doctors reached an agreement within hours and called off their strike on Monday.

Taking serious concern over the strike court directed the government earlier today to file a status report by 25 Aug 2015, indicating if all hospitals in the entire state are functioning.

And if doctors are performing their duties, and also to furnish the particulars of association, if any, of the doctors .

A division bench of Chief Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir and Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan passed these orders on an email received from Anup Kumar an advocate form Nadaun.

The petitioner concerned over the strike of the doctors at IGMC Shimla sent an email to the Chief Justice stating that due to the strike patients are suffering with huge problems and requested to take suo moto action in the matter .

The court issued notice to the Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary (Health), Director Health, Principal, IGMC, Shimla and Chief Medical Officer, Shimla. The matter will be taken up for further hearing on 25 Aug.
