Himachal roadways to add 300 buses every year

Shimla :Himachal Roadways Transport Corporation(HRTC) will add 300 buses each year to its fleet for the next three years.

State transport minister G S Bali told reporters here Thursday after a top level meeting of the state roadways.

“20 new Volvo buses will connect all important pilgrimage centres in the state.50 AC buses had already been ordered. AC buses will charge an extra fare of 15 per cent ,” Bali said.

The state roadways has recently added 471 ordinary buses and 44 more would be soon added.

Bali said Rs 63 crore had been released for upgradation of all workshops twelve bus stands in the state.

He said that a toll free helpline number 94184-00529 has recently been introduced for lodging complaints while traveling.

In the near absence of air and railway network roads is the only source of communication and HRTC plies buses all over the hill state.
