Shimla luxury housing project booked for forgery

Shimla :An upcoming luxury housing project in a pine wooded part of Shimla has been booked by the Himachal police for alleged cheating and violating forest laws.

An FIR has been booked against Bemloe Infrastructure and Development Company under sections 420 , 465, 467 , 468, 471 and 120-B of IPC and section 33 of the Indian Forest Act has also been registered , police sources said .

It was found during a preliminary inquiry that a forged application and false documents were prepared by the company .

It is also suspected that favours given to the company by the then ruling BJP government could have caused a big loss to the state exchequer .

Two years ago  the Opposition Congress had also alleged that scores of pine trees were cut down to create a road and create a construction site in a protected forest .The construction company denies all charges .

The CPM has also been alleging that Bemloe Infrastructure Company is a part of a well known building company from Delhi . And a lot of the houses booked here are by people from across northern India .
