11 killed in Himachal bus crash

Shimla :At least eleven tourists were killed and over 40 injured when a bus swerved of a mountain road in Himachal Pradesh’s Sirmaur district late Monday police said .

“All the 11 dead are tourists ,the toll could rise,” said B S Thakur a senior police officer  .

Most of the passengers are from Saharanpur in neighbouring Uttar Pradesh .

Police arrived late at the spot . Local villagers struggled in the dark to remove the bodies from the wrecked bus in a gorge some 150 km south of the state state capital .

A week ago 25 tourists were swept away by the Beas river . Most of the bodies have still not been found.
