The deadline to remove these metallic boxes ended on April 28 but the boxes seem firmly intact on trees .
It now remains to be seen if the civic body will take action against these powerful cable operators .
Green activists have been voicing concern about piercing and nailing giant deodars and other tall trees in Shimla to fix these boxes .
In all these years none of the cable operating companies have bothered to erect poles to fix these boxes .Besides slowly killing these trees the loose wiring also makes the Shimla skyline look ugly .
According to one estimate there are around 20,000 tv cable connections in Shimla .
