Fuel crisis hits Himachal tourist resorts

News

Shimla : With the tourist season at its peak in Himachal Pradesh , a petrol and diesel shortage has been going on for the past few days and worsening by the day .

Scores of petrol pumps across the state have virtually gone dry including in tourist packed resorts like Shimla , Kasauli, Chail , Kufri , Narkanda  and the Kalka-Shimla highway leading to these hill stations .

The fuel crisis has also hit tourists travelling to Kullu , Manali , Dharamsala and Dalhousie among other places .

Around 100 pumps of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) across the state have not been getting fuel supplies due to protesting truckers who are not shipping fuel to Nalagarh , Shogi and other places from the Bahadugarh depot in Haryana.

Truckers are demanding higher transport charges .

Due to this there is huge pressure on petrol pumps run by other companies and people have to wait for long to fuel their vehicles .
