Sanjay Kundu takes over as DGP Himachal

Shimla: As expected Sanjay Kundu has been appointed as the new Director General of Police (DGP) Himachal Pradesh.

A 1989 batch IPS officer Kundu took over as the new police chief on Saturday. Sita Ram Mardi the outgoing DGP retires on Sunday so Kundu took over on Saturday evening.

Seen as close to the state chief minister Jai Ram Thakur.
and was principal secretary excise, taxation and vigilance.

Kundu has several years to retire and may end up one of the longest terms as DGP in the state.
