Shimla : The Himachal government will start operating interstate bus services of HRTC from 14th October, 2020. In the first phase buses will run on 25 routes. It will include Chandigarh, Pathankot, Baddi, Hoshiarpur, Ludhiana, Ambala, Haridwar. Only non AC buses will ply on interstate routes and night bus service has also been included.
The state transport minister Bikram Singh said that the state government has taken this decision in view of the upcoming Navratri and festive season. He said that people have been demanding to start interstate bus service. Soon the interstate bus services will ply in other states as well.
In the near absence of air and rail networks, roads are the only source of travel in the state. HRTC reaches every nook and corner of the hill state besides connecting major cities in neighbouring states.
