Fire in Shimla’s Old Brockhurst

A fire burnt down a makeshift shack(dhara) in the Old Brockhurst residential area of Shimla east Saturday morning.

By the time two fire tenders arrived(late as usual) the shack had been reduced to ash, only blackened tin roof sheets remain at the spot.

The fire however did not spread to the adjoining government servant quarter block.

A resident said the burnt down structure was illegally built on government land.

Residents said the cause of the fire was a fire cracker.
