Dharamsala-Srinagar HRTC Volvo bus soon

imageShimla: Himachal roadways(HRTC) is all set to start a luxury Volvo bus connecting Dharamsala to Srinagar.

“Called the friendship express the service could start next week connecting the two popular hill stations,” state transport minister G S Bali said here Wednesday.

“The bus will leave Dharamsala at 5 am and reach Srinagar at 6pm.The tariff will be around Rs 1200,” Bali told reporters.

He said the HRTC would soon raise its Volvo buses strength from the current 15 to 50.This will include replacing some of the old buses.

“We have also requested for smaller Volvo buses so that they can run on narrow roads including the tribal areas,” he said.

A Volvo bus service connecting Manali and Jaipur will also start soon.
He said a special bus connecting the Shatabadi express will run between Shimla and Kalka from Thursday.

The state will soon buy 20 more luxury buses other than Volvo buses.
