Centre nod to Mandi airport

Shimla : The central government has given a green signal for the construction of an airport in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh, a spokesman of the state government said here.

This was disclosed by the state chief minister Jai Ram Thakur after meeting the union minister for civil aviation Hardeep Singh Puri in New Delhi today.

The airport will be constructed in a joint venture by the state government and the Airport Authourity if India (AAI) for which the authority will prepare a a detailed project report in a week. While the government will speed up the land acquiring process.
