Himachal has 3127 HIV AIDS cases

Shimla : The current HIV AIDS active patients in Himachal Pradesh is 3127. This is 0.12 per cent in Himachal Pradesh as compared to the national average at 0.22 per cent.

This was disclosed Wednesday by the state health minister Kaul Singh while presiding over a state level workshop organised by the AIDS Control Society and NGO Mamta.

The first case of HIV AIDS was seen at Hamirpur and after that a continuous rise of patients was noticed.

The health minister said that free treatment was being provided to patients affected with this disease and the diagnosis was available in five centres, where free ART and medicines were being provided including IGMC.
