Nod for 3 ropeway projects in Himachal
Shimla :A ropeway will come up in the state capital Shimla and two at Dharamsala. All in the public-private-partnership(PPP) mode, a spokesman of the state government said here Friday.
The Shimla ropeway will start from the Tourist Information Centre on the by pass road and will connect to downtown Mall Road .
In Dharamsala a ropeway will come up at the edge of the hill station from Chamunda temple to Adi Himani Chamunda.
Anothe ropeway will connect Dharamsala to Mcleodgunj the seat of the Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama located uphill.
The committee will also make an attempt to improve annual concession fee of the proposed Palchan-Ropan ropeway near Manali.
The Shimla and Dharamsala-Mcleodgunj ropeways have been proposed for over twenty years. The cost has gone up many times over the years.
The purpose of these three ropeways is to ease congestion in the narrow congested roads. Besides attracting tourists to use ropeways.
Approval was accorded for cancelling small hydel electric projects in the private sector due to several reasons.
These projects are Ghagas,Anni-IV, Najan, Suhi, Chachul, Joiner Top-I and Sainj Bhagaru.
It also approved expansion of JP Himachal cement plant at Baga in Solan district for enhancement of clinkerisation capacity.
The cabinet also decided to set up a bench of the Himachal Pradesh Administrative Tribunal with two benches.
