Himachal inks pact for free 102 ambulance service

Shimla :The Himachal government has decided to provide free back drop facility to all pregnant women and new born babies up to one year of age.

Under this scheme, 125 such ambulances would provide facility to the pregnant women,after delivery and sick children up to the age of one year.

The state government and GVK EMRI signed an MOU here Tuesday for starting 102 ambulance service under national health mission.

This service will be launched on Children’s day on 14th Nov, this year and will be available with the toll free number 102.

State health minister Kaul Singh said one vehicle would be stationed at all the 116 identified delivery points in the state and additional 9 vehicles would be deployed at delivery points with heavy load.

He said that the National Ambulance service 108 is already providing emergency services in the hill state.
