SJVNL targets 7920 mn units power

Shimla : State run Sutlej Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd has set a target of generating 7920 million units of energy  in the next fiscal year . This is expected to fetch a revenue of Rs 1820 crore , a top company official said Tuesday .

To achieve this an agreement has been signed in New Delhi between P.K.Sinha union secretary power and SJVNL’s CMD R P Singh .

The MOU provides for the commissioning of all six units of the 412 MW Rampur project . SJVNL’s flagship the 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri hydro-electric project in Himachal alone is expected to bring in Rs 818 crore .

SJVNL’s 47.6 MW Khirvire Wind power project in Maharashtra will contribute 70 mu in the next fiscal.
The 1320 MW Buxar Thermal power plant in Bihar will also come into operation .

 
The company is also looking for joint ventures to build the 600 MW Kholongchu hydro electric project in Bhutan and the 1000 MW Ultra solar power project in Rajasthan . Besides the 80 MW Doimukh hydro electric project in Arunachal Pradesh,officials said .
