Beware now Shimla traffic cops to have hi-tech cranes

With the traffic police stepping up ways to stop improper and unauthorised parking on Shimla’s narrow winding roads for the past few months, cops may soon be armed with hydraulic cranes to lift erring vehicles.

With the police of late resorting to using vehicle clamps only hydraulic cranes can lift such vehicles efficiently.

In the past couple of weeks the traffic police is targeting new bottleneck points across the town as they cause traffic jams.

The major cause for such jams is vehicles parked on both sides of the road which make it hard for traffic to move smoothly, particularly trucks and buses.
