Himachal’s tribal power projects stuck
Shimla : Out of 37 hydro electric projects allotted to Himachal Pradesh’s tribal Lahaul & Spiti only four have been commissioned so far .
State power minister Sujan Singh Pathania told the house Tuesday that as no meeting of the local development committee(LADC) had been constituted this delay had taken place .
So far 33 power projects are at the survey & investigation , and implementation agreements have not yet been signed .
The power minister said there is no provision for regulating CSR funds and activities in the hydro power policy it is the responsibility of the power developer .
In reply to a question by Kullu legislator Maheshwar Singh about the poor condition of roads chief minister Virbhadra Singh said the state government follows various standards across the country .
Maheshwar expressed surprise that despite following these standards freshly tarred roads developed pot holes within a few months, due to substandard work and plying of heavy vehicles by power and cement projects .
In reply to another question the chief minister said the 82 year old a Bhaleth bridge near Sujanpur there was a proposal to change this single lane arch type bridge to a double lane due to heavy traffic.
