More hail in Himachal’s apple belt

Shimla : A couple of days after a severe hailstorm battered apple orchards in Kotgarh , on Tuesday it was the turn of orchards in Kotkhai , Jubbal and Rohru .

 The hailstorm came some time after noon and struck many orchards in the apple belt . While the hail was heavy in some areas in most other places the hail fell with the rain .

 Flowering is in full bloom in Shimla’s apple orchards in the altitudes of 6500 ft to 7500 ft .

 Hail causes maximum damage to leaves as a result apple trees are not able to carry out the important process of photosynthesis or making of food which weakens the plants .
