94 films for Shimla Film Festival

Organisers of the first Shimla Film Festival are excited by the good response and have received 94 film enteries .The two day event kicks off on April 12 ,orgainsers said here Wednesday.

These include 43 films for the Himachal filmmakers section and 51 in the open category.

“This is much more than we anticipated,” said Ravinder Makhaik, chief organiser of the event.

“In the Himachal category there are 6 feature films, 15 short films,12 documentaries, 8 music videos and 2 short spot films.We also have two music video enteries from USA,” he said.

“In the open section, we have received 7 feature films, 20 short, 22 documentaries, one corporate and music video,” Makhaik said .

Enteries include from regional, national and international cinema.The media centre of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences also has a film .

The festival is being organised by the Himachal Media Pvt Ltd.The films will be screened at YMCA , Shimla on April 12 and 13 .
