Winter cold is back in Himachal

imageShimla :After almost a week of pleasant weather the winter cold suddenly returned to Himachal Pradesh Wednesday

It was a chilly day across the hill state despite bright sunshine . Tourists and the hill folk were seen basking in the sun to catch some warmth .

The state capital Shimla recoded a high of 14 C . In tribal Kinnaur’s Kalpa town it was 11 C .

Dharamsala overlooking the Kangra valley and seat of the Dalai Lama had a high of 16.8 C . Una town bordering Punjab recorded the highest temperature in the state at 20.6 C.

Keylong the headquarters of tribal Lahaul & Spiti district had a low of almost minus 4 C. Manali also had a freezing night with a low of 0 C.
Dry weather is forecast for much of the week. But the weatherman has forecast snow at a few places in the mid and higher hills of the state from Dec 22 , with chances of snow around Christmas.

Some parts of the hill state felt a mild earthquake in the night , the weatherman said .
