Shimla cops watching drivers using mobiles , beware !

Shimla : Traffic police in this Himachal Pradesh capital have decided to get tough on those drivers talking on mobile phones while driving .

 Sources said traffic police in this hill station has started preparing a data bank of those drivers who are repeated offenders .

 Offenders are penalised Rs 500 for using a mobile phone .

But now there is even a plan to impound a vehicle if the drivers is caught repeating the offence .

 If such vehicles are impounded the owner will have to move the local court to release the vehicle , a police official told Sun Post

A vernacular daily quoted a police official saying that a hands-free or blue tooth is allowed for four wheeler drivers. But not for motor cycle drivers many of whom attach these gadgets to their helmets and pose a traffic hazard .
