Rs one lakh for Kotkhai rape-murder clue

Shimla: Under pressure to catch the rapists and killers of a minor school girl in Kotkhai area of Shimla district the Himachal government on Tuesday announced a cash reward of Rs 100,000.

After a meeting of the state chief minister Virbhadra Singh and police chief Somesh Goyal gave details of the special investigative team which will look into the heinous crime which has shaken the hill state.

The SIT will be headed by Inspector General of Southern Range and will have Addl SP Rural, Shimla, SDPO Theog and SHO Kotkhai Police station as its members. The SIT has the freedom of choosing or associating more officers to complete the investigation at the earliest.
 
Inspector General of Police, Southern Range has been directed to camp at Kotkhai for investigation of the case. He has since moved there.
 
Last week a 16 year old’s naked and traumatised body was found in a forest a day after she was raped and killed. But the police remains clueless.
