NABARD sanctions Rs 90 crore for Himachal roads

Shimla : National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has sanctioned almost Rs 90 crore as loan to the Himachal Pradesh government for financing of 22 rural roads and bridge projects and minor irrigation projects in the hill state .

The sanctions by the NABARD’s Rural Infrastructure Development (RIDF) have been accorded for 13 black topped roads .

These roads are 99 km long located in Kangra , Sirmaur , Shimla , Una, Solan and Kullu districts .

Seven ‘kutcha’ roads with a length of 53 km located in Kangra , Kullu, Chamba and Mandi districts are involved .

Two bridges sanctioned are located in Kangra and Mandi and span 150 metres . The total outlay is 73 crore with RIDF assistance being Rs 66 crore .

The state’s PWD will implement the projects .

This is the first sanction for Himachal Pradesh during 2012-13 under Tranche-XVIII of RIDF of NABARD .
