Monica Bharti is new Himachal youth congress chief

Shimla : Monica Bharti has been elected as the new president of the Himachal Indian Youth Congress(IYC) .

 

The vote count was held here Saturday declaring Bharti winner with 3,880 votes out of a total 4,876 votes . Five other candidates got rest of the votes .

Bharti is the daughter-in-law of former Kangra MP Chander Kumar . She is the wife of Neeraj Bharti a legislator .

 

The earlier election of Vikramditya Singh son of union minister Virbhadra Singh’s was declared null and void due to violation of the code of conduct .

 

Interestingly Bharti was openly backed by Virbhadra supporters including Vikramditya .

 

The Congress unit in the state is faction ridden .
