Japan Himachal ink crop project

imageShimla : Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) on Friday signed an agreement with Himachal to implement technical cooperation project titled“ Phase II Project for Crop Diversification in the hill state.

It aims to uplift and stabilize farmers’ livelihood level through further expansion of crop diversification according to agro-ecological situations in Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kangra, Mandi and Una districts.

The second phase of the project will focus on the enhancement of crop diversification model.

The activities of the project will be held in over 200 irrigation sub-project sites.

Japanese experts will be dispatched for assisting vegetable farming, post-harvest activities, marketing, water management, gender empowerment and social inclusion.

Trainings in Japan are also planned for capacity development of management level functionaries, field level officers.
