Himachal winter session 2013 set to be noisy

imageCharged up after winning the recent polls in four states the Opposition BJP could take on the ruling Congress in Himachal Pradesh in the winter assembly session starting Monday.

Among local issues the BJP could hit back at the Congress’ targeting of the BJP run Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) over the past few months .

It could also get after the ruling party for abruptly removing the chairperson of the state women commission last week .

The BJP is also likely to criticise the Congress’ somewhat ordinary one year in office .

The high court’s rapping of the government for not removing and taking action against corrupt officials in various departments could also echo in the house .

Even though Congress is harping on further covering more people under the public distribution system(PDS) . But the Opposition instead is likely to highlight its flaws .

To complete the minimum mandatory sittings of 35 days in a year, the winter session of the state assembly has been extended by a day to Dec 21.

Speaker BBL Butail said 355 questions will be tabled in the winter session .

Since 2005 the winter session is being held outside the state capital in Dharamsala .
